Crisis can be an emotional time in a person's life, therefore with crisis intervention the client and human service work can approach the situation with different methods. Crisis intervention is meant to be a short term support to help individuals cope with the experiences of some incidences. A crisis can cause emotional, mental, or even sometimes physiological complications. The purpose of this paper is to go in depth about crisis intervention and crisis intervention trend plus the challenges the trend faces within the human services field.

There are many of the actions that someone can have that involve a crisis. Different people would have different reaction to those situations. Therefore it is uncertain if the person will know how to handle a crisis, therefore human service workers must work closely with the individual to help him or her cope with a situation. In addition to guide and teach the person so that if the problem should occur again the person would know how to deal with the situation.

The main goal of the crisis intervention is to help the client to face the reality of what has happened and work through the problem the right way. This will involve how to deal with this crisis in that if the problem occurs how one should be able to encounter it and the need to go beyond the pain and emotional trauma so that it can be easy to attain new strength and opportunities that are responsible for growth and change.

How a human service help a client is by the ABC method which is to develop and maintain contact with the individual(s), identify the problem, need to assess the situation, and cope. According to Kanel in our text "A guide to crisis intervention", it states, "Although the ABC model of crisis intervention is presented as a three stage approach, in practice the components of any one of the stages could be used throughout an interview" (Kanel, 2003).

The human service worker needs provide adequate resources and services that are essential to aid the client. However to assist the client the human service worker needs cooperation from the client and the correction information so that the proper measures can be applied to the case. The information that is obtained can help the human service worker understand the situation and therefore the human service worker can better assist the particular individual. Therefore there can be challenges in crisis intervention; many challenges that a human service worker faces today can be in meeting the needs of client. Sometimes a human service worker can care deeply for his or her clientele where a major crisis has occurred. Crisis can be in form as a mental disease or illness, chemical dependency, a personal loss, or immediate family issues. However sometimes one human service worker cannot meet all his or her client's every needs although through referrals, community resources, or nonprofit agencies that work together with the worker, the client can get the assistance he or she needs.

Another challenge that crisis intervention faces is budget cuts. Unfortunately, the human service industry are subjected to budget cuts because of these budget cuts it can affect the human service the organization,
