"Whichever way we Westerners turn, we find ourselves deeply preoccupied with specifics, to the exclusion of everything else."
In this century, world is turning globalization facts. A good communication skill is being necessary to make an international relation, or business deals. Besides, the key to good communication between countries is an understanding of each other's culture, and deeply know how every country conveys meaning. However, Edward T. Hall has found a strong linkage to exist between culture and communication.
Edward T. Hall, an anthropologist, has discovered some of key cultural factors, and one of the factors is high and low context. The "context" is the information that surrounds everywhere and is strongly connected in our life. The elements that combine together to give meaning in our life are different depending on the culture. Hall uses high and low context to refer to how much speakers rely on things other than words to convey meaning. Hall explains that in communication, individuals face many more sensible cues than they are able to fully process. Generally, cultures that have low-context communication will pay more attention to the literal meanings of words than to the context surrounding them, and cultures that have high-context communication will being less in verbally explicit or written or formally expressed.

A low context people, they may be more likely to try to work things out on their own and feel everything is self-service support or information, rather than ask people questions and build the relationships with others, as known as the individualism.
On North America, as mentioned, is using the low context classification. Hall has said that: "The mass of information is vested in the explicit code." People who using the low context communication, are more likely thinking is inductive, and proceeds from specific to general. Focus is on detail on learning, and learning occurs by following explicit directions and explanations of others. When people talk in low-context, the message is carried more by words than by nonverbal means, and verbal message is straight; one spells things out exactly.
Using the high-context/low-context classification, there are some straight relations between those. For example, in a low-context American culture, communications among family members are generally high-context because of the high level of sharing experience. For our purposes, though, we'll
