Driving

When it comes to the game of golf, there is a tremendous amount of key factors to a solid game of golf. Driving is a very important part of the game of golf. On most holes, the driver is what you will start with. KeepMyGolfScore.com asks the question: "Would you rather hit it farther, or more accurate?" if you want to hit the ball more accurate, here are some helpful tips to help on your driving. First off, when you swing the driver, as with all clubs in the bag you need to contact the clubface flat with your palm and the clubface toward your target. Another tip is to be aware of your angle on the swing. In golf, the term is a plane where you swing. This plane is very similar to a baseball swing, only on an angle. The angle can affect the flight and direction of ball. If you swing too flat, or horizontal it will cause the clubface to be open resulting in a sliced ball to the right. When too vertical on this plane, it will result in either hitting the ground or a possible closed clubface causing a hook to the left. A simple way to find the angle is to imagine a clock where the ball is 6 o'clock and your hands should be around 10 o'clock. Once the angle is established, your actual swing needs to be fluent and natural (in rhythm). Finding a tempo is very important to eliminate hesitation or pausing. As said on Wikihow.com, "Ensure that you rotate both your shoulders and hips when swinging. If you maintain a rigid, linear shape, then your tee-shot will suffer." The final thing on driving is to maintain eye contact with the ball. Large portions of golfers tend to get ahead of one's self by looking to their target before they even hit the ball. With the tips provided and some practice, the driving portion of golf should improve.
