In my opinion, the descriptive story "Ground Zero" is a well-written piece. My favorite part about this piece of literature is the information that was given about Sherman Alexie's life and the background of where and when he grew up and what was happening at that time. I believe this is key to a narrative piece because it gave me, the reader, a closer connection and deeper understand of events that happened involving Sherman Alexie which could show some sort of significance throughout the story. Another reason why I like this narrative is because it has organization. Each section corresponding to a grade in school builds up to the finale. There is a deeper meaning in each amount of information that is given in each section which gives me the opportunity to follow right behind Sherman Alexie as he takes me through his life events, which gives me a play-by-play and closer connection with the author. Although it doesn't quite flow like another piece of writing and is sometimes choppy, it does get the point across; short and sweet. One thing that I would've liked to see Alexie do would be to incorporate dialogue/quotes in each section. The person-to-person speaking adds a little bit of oomph and personalization to writing and makes the reader feel like they are in fact listening to the conversation play out in person.
