Prevention of STI and Contraception
Learning Objectives:
Students will be able to:
* List the common STI in Nz and how they contract it
* identify reasons why one would want to avoid contracting the disease or prevent unplanned Pregnancy
* explain how a condom works
* explain the advantages of using condoms
* Demonstrate order of condom use
* Describe what makes a condom less effective
* Identify where they can get the health resource and support they needed.
Content:
1. List the common STI in NZ and how they contract it
o Definition of STI
o Introduce common STI
o Means of contraction
Teaching Strategy
* Assess what they already know by doing ice breaker STI Game
* Use PowerPoint to show STI info
2. identify reasons why one would want to avoid contracting the disease or prevent unplanned Pregnancy
o Long terms consequences of STI And Unplanned Pregnancy
