A lot of people often say that celebrities and athletes are their heroes. This is because celebrities and athletes are the ones who are most displayed and shown through movies and television. They are looked up to and respected and they are the main interest in the society. People want to become successful like these celebrities and athletes and they want to live as happy and as comfortably as they do. But really athletes and celebrities do not fit exactly under the category of what a hero is defined as.
So then, what exactly is a hero according to the article? A hero is someone who is admired for his achievements and his noble qualities. It is someone who is brave and courageous and extremely devoted to something. A hero is a genuine person who cares for the well being and prosperity of others without seeking any attention for fame or redemption. Someone who goes beyond one's expectations may be considered a hero. In addition, a hero is not necessarily a famous person.
Heroes are needed because they give people something to aspire to and they provide hope and meaning to people's lives. It doesn’t matter what we know about a person, some real unpleasant facts or something like that, it is his own personal life. We should just take into consideration his/her impact on society.
In conclusion, people who say that they do not have or do not want to have a hero, maybe they just do not want to develop, set and reach goals.
