Hometown Shanghai

I am going to make a short presentation about my hometown, Shanghai. Shanghai is one of the biggest cities in China. It is not only an international metropolis, full of vigor and variety, but also the economic, financial, trade and shipping center in China.

There are three parts in my presentation. First is the two sides of the Huangpu River. Second, is the world Expo in 2010 in Shanghai. And the last one is the nightlife in Shanghai.

It is a very beautiful city. To look towards the two banks of the Huangpu River, you can see a perfect combination between modernism and classicism. On the west side is the Bund, it is called "Gallery of Word Architecture". There are many classic architectures, such as Gothic, Romanesque, Baroque, Chinese and western wall, and etc. , total 52 different styles of building. However, on the other side, the whole view under your eye is modern high-rise buildings everywhere. This is the famous finance and trade centre in Shanghai, Lujiazu Finance & Trade Zone. There are three famous and tallest building in the area, Global Financial Centre, Jin mao Tower, and the Oriental Pearl Radio and Television Tower.

Shanghai was the host city of the world Expo in 2010. This was the first time China held the world Expo. The slogan of this Expo was "Better city, Better life". This distinguished meeting began from 1st May to 31st October in 2010. There are 240 different countries and regional organizations came and took place the world Expo in Shanghai. They built their own national characters architectures, to show their culture, science and technology.

The nightlife in Shanghai is very rich and colorful. Some one says, " Shanghai is a ever-bright city." You can see multi colored neon light on two sides of road, it makes Shanghai's night ravishing beauty. There are many different styles pubs in Shanghai, wherever you come from, I promise you can find the one you like to enjoy your nightlife. And people really don't worry about the safety, policemen and city administrator patrol around the road. And the important reason is Shanghai people are all very nice and enthusiastic. If foreigner come to Shanghai and you get some problem at night, I believe Shanghai people will happy and glad to help you. Furthermore, whenever if you are hungry, you can find various midnight snack to eat. And they are all very delicious, such as Shanghai Xiao Long Bao, Chinese barbecue and crayfish.

At the end of my presentation, I want to tell you I love my hometown, Shanghai so much. And welcome to Shanghai. I promise you will like it as me.
