The business I chose is house of Fraser. House of Fraser is a British department store group with over 60 stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Also they have more than 5,000 employees plus. It was recognised in Glasgow, Scotland in 1849 as Arthur and Fraser. By 1891, it was known as Fraser & Sons. They have been on mission to provide their customers heart desires for more than 150 years.

In 1849, Hugh Fraser and James Arthur opened a drapery shop. By 1941 what started as a small, local shop acquired a number of businesses in Scotland and became House of Fraser Ltd.

Scope:

Scope is the amount of all individual jobs such as brand manager, it technicians including a contract that signed by the employee.

House of Fraser introduces scopes such as buying merchandiser and design, digital technology, head office support, store staff and store support.

Buying Merchandiser and Design:

House of Fraser introduces different range of merchandisers such as women's, men's and kid’s fashion, beauty, home, electricals and more at the UK's premium department store.

House of Fraser also introduces different brands for each merchandiser for instance in the women department the top brands that House of Fraser use ore often are: Michael Kors, DKNY, Ted baker. House of Fraser is well known with types of product and quality they present to their customers. The different products that House of Fraser sell from the women’s department vary from dresses, tops, coats and jackets, accessories to shoes.

In the men’s department, House of Fraser also present brands that customers are attracted to such: Hugo Boss, Diesel and Top man. The men’s department too sell coats & jackets, hoodies & sweatshirts, shirts, shorts, sports and fitness.

The “beauty” department sell beauty products. This category includes products such as makeup, skin care, nail care, bath & body, haircare and perfume and aftershave. Another department House of Fraser has is kids & toys. In this category House of Fraser sell products that are aimed for kids between 4-16 years old.

Workforce planning is a repeated process used to arrange the needs and priorities of the organization in terms of the size, type, and quality of product. Workforce planning is also is used to confirm it can meet the organisations legislation and its objectives/aims. Workforce planning controls the right number of people with the right experience, skills and knowledge are employed in the right place at the right time to ensure the organisations aims’/objectives are met. Workforce planning is used to ensure that house of Fraser is running smoothly and it’s meeting its aims and objectives.
