Human Resource Management
1).
I do believe that Oiler's employee rights were violated. This is due to the fact that yes when he is at work he did a very good job he was the poster child for a great employee. When his company found out about him being a cross dresser the tables were turned. In my own opinion he was not a different person and there was evidence that his work ethic had not changed. He was a great employee and many people were behind him on that matter but it is his right if he wants to dress like a woman then he can. Obviously his wife had no problem with it beings she went out in public with so how should it be any different with his job? Oiler has the right to dress like a woman if he wants to but you also have to look on the other side also. This is the side of the company and I have worked for companies before that when I signed the dotted line I was their property. This is because when I got the position I realized that even outside of work people could recognize me and the church I worked for did not want to be held accountable or liable if I did something wrong. Which I believe would be the same in this case. I do believe Oiler's rights were violated and I do not believe it is fair but I also know that the effects of what you do off the job can negatively affect how your employers look at you and their reactions have a lot of dependency on your job.

I do believe people react on a more negative note when the employee is fired for something that the employer may see differently compared to how the other employee's interpret the situation. So I guess how the employee's are punished depends on how the reaction will be for the rest of the staff. For instance one time while I was working at a restaurant the manager was deported to Mexico because he did not have a visa for the United States. This was something that the employees couldn't believe happened because there was nothing we could do about it. Although really he should not have come to the United States illegally and the company should have made sure he was legal to work. He made it all the way to the manager of the restaurant which was not easy but he was not caught before this event. Not only was there nothing that could be done but not many people felt like doing anything about it anyway because we felt lied to and deceived. If anyone would have cared I assume that we could have made a big fuss over it. People could have walked out on their jobs, employees could have fought for him to be legalized and given a visa because he had a job, or employees could have
