This theory argues that human can do more than one category at the same time.(Bartol. K.M & Martin. D.C ,1998, Management, pp.387) Meanwhile, these three needs do not have obvious boundary. ERG theory do not emphasize the order as hierarchy needs, it considered that one of the need have effect on behavior in a certain time, after it has been satisfied by people, they can pursue a higher need or that human needs could skip-level climbed. From my point of view, the ERG theory are more flexibility in describing human behavior than Maslow's hierarchy, but case studies of ERG theory are not enough. Although there are limited tools and research methods for us to test this theory, while it still have few studies on this motivation theory, and the studies that have been reported seems to show stronger support for Alderfer's ERG model than Maslow's hierarchy of needs( Mitchell T.R & Daniels D,2003)
McClelland's theory is different from Maslow's hierarchy and Alderfer's ERG. In acquired-needs theory, McClelland argued that "human learned or got needs form their own working and life experienced", and he divided the theory into three categories which are "need for affiliation", "need for power", and " need for achievement", moreover, this three parts are effect to each other.
