Methodology

The purposes of this project is to gain in-depth knowledge about the HRM policies adopted by the organization UCB and find the relationship between the literature and real life scenarios. In order to gather all the necessary information and data, we considered several variables, different methods of collecting data, and different sources of information. We had to deal with certain limitations, but yet we collected enough information in a systematic way to formulate an overall idea of HRM policies and practices of the organization UCB under research. Data for this project were collected both from primary and secondary sources. For primary data we have interviewed vice president and executive officer of UCB’s HR department in order to get direct information. Secondary data were collected through company website as well as online encyclopedia and other websites. As HR department is the most confidential department in a company so for us the limitation was not getting too much information from the bank. More over as we have collected our data for online there might be a chance of scarcity.

Training and Development

For achieving company’s strategic goal human resource development is the pre requisite.  Building professional skills and capacity UCB arranges the program of training their employees and executives on yearly. Usually the top management tries to find out the key areas, which need to be improved in order to meet company’s needs. After that the management formulates an overall plan to design the training program, and they implement the program. Lastly, they assess the overall progress.
