The process of domination over an area by foreign power, Imperialism, had been the basis of Europe taking over and Impacting Africa, which caused Early Interactions with Europe, Colonization, and Struggles after Independence. Imperialism turned towards Africa when the Duke had summoned Africa was a vulnerable victim to Imperialism, once word spread, People everywhere came to Africa, as an act called the vacuum, hoping to be the foreign power that would take over Africa.

When Europe first came to Africa in the 1400s, they found a city of wealth and goods. Europeans eventually began the process of Imperialism by installing trading posts and Participating in Slave trade. Although the slave trade and trading posts were successful it played a harmful effect toward Africa. During the process of the slave trade, The Slaves were put into unsanitary boats and were poorly treated, most of the time a majority of them would have died from diseases or poor treatment even before they made it to their destinations.

When the Europeans fully colonized the Sahel, colon ial powers divided Africa into geometric boundaries, often intersecting through ethnic tribes, leading to conflict between the once unified area. They obliterated the African Culture by forcing their own religion, beliefs, and customs upon their newly formed Africa. They also turned Africa as the producers of cash crops and made them abandon their previous work. The Europeans did what would benefited the mother country and what gave them wealth and ignored the fact that it was hurting Africa.

After Independence, Africans were constantly treated poorly and their human rights were being denied. They also often had to deal with overpoulation, famine, desertification, and the widely spread AIDS.
