TASK 2
MALLING OAST HOUSE
Most of the information processing is done manually at Malling Oast House. And information needs to be kept separately on different files which require considerable amount of room. And to access particular information can take time. For example, to process the wages of the employees, the manager has to check the number of hours worked, wage rate, make adjustments like holiday taken or sick leave and calculate the wage to be paid manually. But they do use information technology when printing online newsletter to be sent to customers' email.
THE CURLEW
For Curlew all its system are computerised but they are not integrated with each other which mean that files have to be transferred from one system to another. All data are input electronically and files are kept in the computer. Any information needed can be retrieved quite easily.
BLANCHLAND PRIORY
For Blanchland Priory, all of its functional areas are computerised but not integrated with each other. Its information processing is similar to The Curlew.
THE COMPANY SHED
The Company Shed uses the traditional way of processing information where everything is done manually. There is hardly any use of information technology.
