CFA- chartered financial analyst.
The body of knowledge covered in the course covers a wide range of subjects including quantitative techniques, economics, financial statement analysis, corporate finance, equity, debt, derivatives, alternative investments, portfolio management and ethics. The knowledge gained while studying is invaluable to students' future careers in the investment industry, but is also useful for professionals in treasury and control as well as other financial professionals.
Consulting :- Three qualifying degrees :-
1. Bachelor's or master's degree
2. MBA
3. Advanced degree or experienced professionals
2.MBA :-
Analyst--associate(typically join as associates)--specialist--expert--associate principal--partner--director .
After reading a lot about profiles of different consultants I found people with varying degree from anthropology to M.Sc to mba. Quoted by mckinsey "McKinsey provides new skills and leadership opportunities--whatever your field"
An example would be Yael, working as a partner in New York ofiice with degree in neuroscience and music. She was recruited and offered to work in Mckinsey dealing with industry she was associated with earlier (music in this case) thus mixing work with passion.
Investment banking:-

3.Merger & Acquisition
4.Project finance- involves findidn and managing fundng for new projects. Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank are most active.
5.Trading - undertaking transaction in equity, bonds and currencies with large commercial banks, investment banks and large institutional investors.
6.Structured Finance--creating finance vehicles to redirect cash flows to investors.
7.Derivatives--Swaps , futures etc. who derive their value from another primitive source. Proficiency in maths required especially stochastic(random variable) differential equation
8.Advisory
Specialization in economy is desirable.MBA is suitable. Looking at profiles of investment banking positions offered in India, concluded that these are offered in only iims and few other colleges.
