Wonder burgers are an all-natural fast-food franchise that offers its customers the opportunity to eat healthy. Over the next few years Wonder Burger is working on expanding internationally to three major countries which are Mexico, London, and China. However, before we make these expansions we here at Wonder Burgers must understand each culture values and the difference eating fast-food has on each cultures. We must also take into consideration of each ethical code regarding the way business is to be conducted in that country. This is why we use the program Rosetta stone to help our employee with any language barrier he or she may face in any of the three countries. Non -verbal communication is also an important factor when communicating in many countries (Dupraw & Axner, 1997). Non-verbal communication includes not only facial expressions and gestures; it also involves seating arrangements, personal distance, and sense of time (Dupraw & Axner, 1997). Moreover, different norms regarding the appropriate degree of confidence in communicating can add to cultural misunderstandings (Dupraw & Axner, 1997). In addition, since the majority of world value religion we must also think of this when want to expanding our business to other countries besides the United States.
Mexico is going to be the first country on our agenda to discuss ways how we here at Wonder Burgers can expand to the country peaceful and respectable. In the Mexican culture, communication tends to be indirect and subtle, and presented in such a way as to be diplomatic and non-confrontational. Mexican values the family and the place it holds in society. As a collectivist culture, the family unit is a dominating factor of daily life and the close ties between extended families and communities can have a major influence on individual behavior. In Mexico, time is considered to be flexible, relaxed and circular, and is therefore unlimited.
