Understanding the concept of journey can be complex, often difficult.Journeys are about the process of speculation as self-reflection.This statement implies that the journey is made through expressing ones opinion based on incomplete evidence and the challenge of examining one's own thoughts and emotions. This is supported in many different film texts including The Lovely Bones a film directed by Peter Jackson and the film Eat Pray Love by Ryan Murphy.
The Lovely bones is a great example of a concept of journey as the Salmon family accepts their 14 year old daughters death and portrays the different ways they all grieved. As well as following the journey of Susie's afterlife and her family finding a way out of loosing her. Adjusting to her new home in heaven, A place that is not at all what she expected, even as she is watching life on earth continue without her friends trading rumors about unraveling.Throughout the film one technique that is used numerous times is flashbacks, they seem to play an important role and understanding as the director shows how Susie watchers over her family, friends and the town.
This means that we easily side with her instantly and show great empathy to her situation. They try to unfold the mystery of what happened to Susie Salmon. The main reason flashbacks are inserted into this movie is because it clarifies what actually happened in the moment of each scene. The core text of Away by Michael Gow has a strong relation to the film Lovely Bones as they both provide a realistic and physical journey although from different time periods. They demonstrate the emotional part of their experience, just like the characters in away as they go on summer holidays. And end up having an emotional dramatic and a big reconcile by each character, As they return from there vacation every characters personality has discovered the quality of life and how it should be treated. In comparison the lovely bones is also an emotional journey as a family looses there daughter but bluntly make an effort to
