Today I will discuss coming home to find my son's friend inside my kitchen looking through my kitchen drawers and my jewelry sitting on the counter next to him. I will explain my take on the situation and what I believe to be best the remedy for this problem. We will look see some programs they can perhaps detour juvenile delinquency and also see some of the consequences of juvenile's entering the criminal justice system.

If I were to come home and find my door open and once inside I find my son's friend there I would immediately ask him what he is doing inside. After asking him why he is inside my home without my permission . I notice that he has some of jewelry and smells like marijuana I would ask him to leave my home to think about the situation and what I plan on doing.

Since this is my son's friend I would first go to his parents and see how we could possibly rectify the situation. I would ask ask if them if they have notice any changes in his behavior or school work. Once we have discussed this and the parents tell me that yes they believe that their son has been behaving strange lately.

I would let them know that I know he is a good kid and that's why I came to them instead of calling the police, this way hopefully he can keep the help he needs before this becomes a major problem and then they will not be able to control the situation. I also will let them know that juvenile's go through different stages during there teenage years and that their not alone.

Behavior problems can normally be detected by the age of two in some children. http://www.aboutjuveniledelinquents.com/help.html At this time some parents may notice an aggressive behavior pattern in their child. But normally between the ages of 3 and 6 this type of behavior decreases. Because by this time most children have learn how to communicate and understand what type of behavior is good and what type of behavior is bad. If a child fails to understand what is good behavior there may be some type of behavioral problem that if not caught then can lead to more problematic behavior and cause the child to engage in criminal mischief.

Poor academic performance can be a good indicator that your child may start to have a delinquency problem. When your child starts to show a lack of interest in schoolwork, cannot finish school assignments, and start getting bad grades. This can lead to start feeling as though they are worthless and can also create a self-esteem problem.

The best thing right now to is try and prevent any more delinquent behavior like this from happening again. There are many treatment options when it comes to juvenile's here are a few.

The first one is the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) this program is done in school and teaches children the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs, and violence. Www.dare.com This program was founded in 1983 in Los Angeles and has been proven to be so great that it is implemented in over 76 percent of our nation's school districts and it is in more than 43 countries around the world.

The D.A.R.E. Program goes beyond the traditional teaching children about drug abuse and violence prevention. It gives the children the necessary skills that they need in today's society to recognize and resist the temptations they encounter from their peers. Temptations that may cause them to try and experiment with drugs or perhaps get involved in a gang or another violent activity.

Recreation is another type of prevention program such Boys and Girls Club of America or YMCA. This are two excellent programs that youth may go to afterschool and even some weekends to have something to do besides go home or hanging out at a friends house. It has been reported that juvenile's commit crimes between the hours of 2pm and 8pm., with crime rates peaking at 3pm.http://www.lawyershop.com/practice-areas/criminal-law/juvenile-law/prevention/ These programs help juvenile's the opportunity to connect with adults and children that come from the same community as them. These types of recreation programs help children to make positive friendships that might last for years to come. These programs are designed to fit each child's personality or skills given them the opportunity to enjoy, board games, video games, sports, computer labs, karate and many more activities to choose.

Programs that have been shown to have little to no effect are programs such as scared straight or juvenile boot camps and this
