Ducks Unlimited

Ducks Unlimited is the world's largest and most effective private waterfowl and wetlands conservation organization. DU is able to multilaterally deliver its work through a series of partnerships with private individuals, landowners, agencies, scientific communities and other associated entities. Ducks Unlimited offers a variety of associations to waterfowls such as conservation, hunting, apparel and accessories, recipes, media sources, and national conventions (http://www.ducks.org).

As mentioned, Ducks Unlimited will be sponsoring an upcoming event in Charlottesville, North Carolina. The Keystone Conference, just like the others, will be affair in tips of hunting, land protection, fundraising for eroding wetlands, apparel, and other cultural relations to waterfowls.

Elements of scope for the project

The scope elements at the Keystone Conference (KC) for Ducks Unlimited (DU) will be presented in this project. As given in the text (Gray, C. F., & Larson, E. W. 2008), The project scope definition is a document that will be published and used by the project owner and project participants for planning and measuring project success. The elements for a project scope are: project objective, deliverables, milestones, technical requirements, limit and exclusions, and reviews with customers (pg. 92). The provided scope will have clear, defined information to the Keystone Conference and 100 chapter representatives from Ducks Unlimited nationwide.

Each team that was assigned to the project manager is held responsible for the tasks with the Keystone Conference. The layout by the project manager is sectioned in heads: Heads of Conference, Finances, Programme, Accommodations, Logistics, Technical Support, Public Relations, Products and Sales, Local Events, and Miscellaneous.

The project objective is the first step of project scope definition which is to define the overall objective to meet the customer's need(s)(pg 92). Being the project manager for Ducks Unlimited, the given assignment to the Keystone Conference will be a significant-sized project to deliver. It is noted that the project budget is set at 1.2 million dollars and have a 21- months time span for delivery. As stated, ten teams will be in assistance with project manager to organize the KC with individual team tasks to present at the conference. Each team will be expected to answer the questions of what, when, and how much. This is provided in the project objective as well.

The next step to the project scope is the deliverables. It is indicated the KU will be held in Charlottesville, North Carolina. Each team is responsible for the providing information for the conference ranging from the ground support of the project to the closing of the event. The locale will be assessed for surrounding support to Ducks Unlimited and the Keystone Conference. This is to identify the demographic and relations to the company in support of upcoming conference.

The schedule of 21 months was issued to complete the given assignment. Most projects are projected to completing certain tasks through a portion of the project. This is called a milestone. This element of scope provides the costs, resources, and time that are contributed to the project. Moreover, each team will present all information on the assigned tasks.
