Issue of the environment those people that believe oil production should be cut out and are aware of global warning

Then there are those that think they are crazy because we have to get our oil from ourselves and be independent of the middle east and support our own economy

Leader would go in and say let's first try to acknowledge and understand the other sides position. The leader doesn't go in and try to be directive, let's go in and try to understand the other sides truth. Isn't the environment concerned with our well being.

"How can we have both?" "How can we create something that integrates both approaches without going to war?"

First step:

Go learn about the other sides position. First thing leader does is acknowledge what the other side is about; that the other side may have a point.

True leadership isn't saying the other side is wrong or condemning the other side.

Second step:

The leader tries to put the information together: both groups to understand each others prespective on this.

Have a group of people from both groups to discuss for weeks on end to elevate the understanding of both sides in order to come to a common solution. At the very least, thinking is elevated, leading to small shifts that might lead to a solution in the future.
