The use of social media is a key part of advertising and marketing in the world that we live in today. With the new technology surfaced in the world that we live in, having great social media accounts that appeal to the younger generations are a necessity. The social media accounts that are great advertising right now are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Tumblr, and Snapchat. Each of these different social media accounts has their own specialty as to why they can be a beneficiary for the company. For example, Instagram visually shows people interested exactly what products look like. If one is interested in the prospect of wearing the product, they can go to their Instagram page and see a bunch of different styles very easily.
One company that uses social media to help them in a big way is Lulu Lemon. Lulu Lemon is a Yoga-inspired international athletic clothing company for men and women. It was founded in 1998 by Chip Wilson who saw a growing popularity of yoga and wanted to make technical clothing that was stylish. One of the main visions he had was to enable workout clothing a new style for people to wear outside of the gym. The popularity of Lulu Lemon keeps on growing, and its net income in the year 2016 was $266 Million. In addition, Lulu Lemon currently has 360 stores worldwide and that number is supposed to grow. Lulu lemon is an up and coming company that needs to have its social media appeal to its customers. There are so many ways that Lulu Lemon can grow their brand by using their social media accounts in the best possible manner. It is imperative for Lulu Lemon to use social media as one of their main sources of advertising and marketing.
Overall summary of social media use and purpose
Lulu Lemon uses all of its social media accounts in a unique manner in order to reach their customers. They used Facebook, twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Tumblr and Snapchat all to market their products in a great way. After looking at all the different pages, it is easy to tell that they have a marketing department who runs these different pages. They are not saying the same uninspired things in each social media account. Each account is unique in their way to market their product. They use a unique voice that adapts to each platform which is extremely beneficial towards their strive to be successful with their marketing of their social media accounts. The goal of their use on all their social media accounts across the board is to promote the product as well as the number of ways the product can be used. An example of this is on their Instagram page, they show photos of people in Lulu Clothes wearing and using their products at so many different locations and places.
