Magician Archetype Was Martin Luther King Jr

The magician is a person who thinks that he can accomplish anything and everything in his life. The feeling of confidence that you know what could and should be done to make a transformation in our life to better the world; you start making decisions and stop listening to the people who used to influence your life. The willingness to take risks to become successful becomes a part of the magician archetype. By doing this you will show confidence in what you are trying to do to better yourself. You will show independence in your thought process and become your own person. This could lead to you thinking that you are a dominant figure in society, meaning that people will look to you for guidance in there life.

An example that we look at when thinking about the Magician archetype was Martin Luther King Jr. He used his story to create this magical potential in the people who followed his every move. His strong faith in God helped him in his guidance of people. When facing the question of segregation in America, King said "No!" it is not acceptable in today's society. He helped people rise above and become an individual that would be accepted by others. Having the background of being an African American, a patriot of America, and a Christian minister he could pull from many different groups to have there support in what he was trying to accomplish. Martin Luther King Jr. is recognized as the leader of the civil rights movement. He accomplished this by his charisma in which he had when speaking in public and was able to set into motion many of laws that are in place today to stop segregation in society. We all think of him as a person ahead of his time and that is what makes his connection to the magician archetype so strong and still can be relatable today even after his death over 40 years ago.
