Personally, Nau's approach to doing business would be classified as dark green management . When talking about green management , organizations are supposed to concern about the impact of decisions and activities made on the natural environment . There are different degree of green management according to the approach chosen by organizations. In this case, I think that Nau is using activist approach ,that means Nau is looking for ways to repect and preserve environment and be actively socially responaible. Besides just do what is legally required by laws , Nau do thing that exceed the legal standard .For example, Nau has pleged 5 percent of sales revenue to charitable organizations dedicated to solving crucial environmental and hummanitarian .Which is much higher than the recommened percentage and also the average donation percentage of other firms. It shows that Nau is really want to contribute to the environment and society but to only concern about money .It is out of ethical being ,but are responsible being . Some may think that doing like Nau will bring company a huge cost and become inefficient . However , there are some approach launched my Lau in order to reduce the operation cost and waste. For example, Nau conbined the efficiency of internet with the intimacy of gallery-like boutique. The reduce much operation cost and material . This help both the planet and the business. This also shows Nau do things efficiently company that getting the most output with the least inputs.
On the other hand , I think Nau is being ethical and responsible. Being ethical means firms are supposed to follow a principle which define what is right and wrong behaviour . In the case , Nau do serveral things right .For example , it operate business with less waste , donate money for environment improvement. Besides ,Nau also responsible to the society .Different with being ethical , social responsibility beyonds legal and economic obligations. Take Nau as an example , it donate sales revenue that beyond the obligate level .
