What is the goal of the session1?

The main goal of this session is to evaluate into detail the work done by the group. In a broader sense, the aim of this session is to identify both themes and patterns that can be applied when planning actions (Stewart, 2004). The identified themes and patterns will be derived from the stop-continue-starts charts that he been developed by every functional group earlier. This will ensure that the changes that need to take place are identified as well as reinforcing features of effective work.

How will the nominal group technique be used to achieve the identified goal?

The nominal group technique involves identifying the problem and coming up with a solution. It's mostly used by groups of different sizes that want to come up with a decision while incorporating the views of every member of the group. One of the key features of the nominal group technique is planning so as to ensure that resources and group activities are well coordinated (Potter, 2004). This makes it possible for the group to attain its goals with the least resources possible. More to this, planning in the nominal group technique makes it possible for the group to check the development of their ideas and retain their control over the process.

How will the members of the team work together?

Throughout the implementation of the nominal group technique, it is vital for every member to posses the following qualities so as to ensure that they make meaningful contribution towards the generation of good ideas.

* Mental stability- this is important mostly in the chase of the right decisions and also in the management of ideas as well as the processes that come with it. It is important for every group member to stay up to date with all developments in the meetings so as to be knowledgeable in all aspects of the process.

* Performance and credibility- the generation of good ideas in the nominal group technique comes from well facilitated meetings that involve all the group members. These ideas can also be credited to effective human resource mobilization and strategic planning of the moderator during the meetings. Consequently, the reliability of the team receives a boost as its performance improves.

* Planning and strategy formation capabilities- creation of planning and strategy formation these days has necessitated the need for every group member in the nominal group technique to be aggressive mostly in sharing ideas.
