        I am a huge fan of Marvel. I rarely read their comics but I can say that I have watched every Marvel movies that has ever released. It excites me every time there are announcements regarding new movie releases.

With this, I already had my own assumption regarding the results of the paper when the professor announced it in class. This is that I believe when marvel releases a new movie, there will be significant increase in Marvel’s stock price. However, upon reading the paper, I realize I made the wrong assumption. The study said that Marvel’s movies had no significant impact on the stock price. How could this be possible? Most of Marvel’s movies that hit the box office breaks records, and yet the study shows that there are no significant impact on the stock price.

Instead, the effect the study proved is that the stock prices decrease whenever there are bad news regarding Marvel. This is logical as stockholders want to reduce the risks of losing their money. What’s surprising is that this behavior should also involve investing when there are good news. However, it doesn’t seem to be the case. I believe that there is a saying that “people will always remember your mistakes and not what you did well.” This study best supports this saying.
