It was one of those lonely nights, the one where you would want even the slightest human to be in your presence. It was one of those things where you wish you had anyone with you. Before I had these panicking thoughts mom and dad were home. It started off as a regular day. I woke up took a shower, brushed my teeth, got dressed and caught the bus. I went through school all day hoping to get to basketball practice then spent all basketball practice hoping to get home. It was friday and I wanted to go home and stay up all night and watch T.V maybe do some homework. When I get home I found my mom all dressed up and my dad was in the shower. I drop my bag " Mom ? Where you goin ?" She looked at me and said "Well it's your father and I 10 year anniversary and this year we decided to go celebrate" I roll my eyes and go upstairs to my room, as I walk by the living room the CNN network is on and the T.V catches my full attention when I hear "It isn't safe tonight" I stop and turn my full attention towards the T.V. I listen as the man continues, "Yes that's right, Folks it isn't the safest night to go out, we have just been informed America's Most Wanted Man is here in our town and we fear for your safety so please stay indoors and lock all your doors and windows" As I listen to the T.V, I was so intact with every word he said I failed to realize my mother was standing right over my shoulder, she came in and turned the T.V and said "Oh, God this is a bunch of garbage" she came over kissed my forehead and said "You'll be just fine tonight hun". So I shrug it off, I'm pretty brave I thought, I had a lot of near death experiences, and by that I mean I rode the Superman at six flags. So based on that I was as tough as I can be. I'm in my room laying down listening to music when I hear my mom shout for me, I groan and yell "COMING" as I struggle to get up, she's yelling impatiently for me, by the time I get down stairs, they are halfway out the door, she saying "Call me if you need me, dinner is on the stove, and we will be back around 1 a.m, Okay ?" I give my normal response " Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay mom", She said "I love you, have fun" as she slams the door before I can even get the rest of love out. Before I go upstairs I take some precautionary measures, first I let my dog Robert out, robert sleeps with me every night under my sheets, me on the left him on the right. While he runs upstairs to get his spot, I go and lock the doors, front and back, then I go to the kitchen windows, lock those and I feel secure, I feel safe. I shrug off the basement windows, I think to myself, "No, he won't even think about it", so I take one last look at the pitch black downstairs and go upstairs with my dinner and my drink ready to lay in bed for yet again another boring friday night. Every night, especially nights
