Metamorphosis Nightmare

I knew today was going to be an exotic day from the moment the gazing sun shined down through my window waking me up. I stretched out, and made my way down the stairs for breakfast. "Today is the big day!" I explained. It was the first day in years that I was going to the zoo to check out all of the awesome wild life. I never would have thought it would lead to a quite memorable experience; A terrifying one. It was a foggy morning, still wet outside from the dew as I was packing a few things up in my car for the trip. I picked up a few friends from their houses and we set off to have a good day at the zoo.

When we arrived I parked the car in the oversized parking lot, and we made our way to the huge entrance gate. I walked through the gates and took in the sites and noises of everything around me. There were birds chirping, kids screaming and laughing, and the smell of carnival food in the air. My friends and I decided to check out the polar bear exhibit first. We kept moving on past all the exhibits. It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining so nice and bright; it felt good. By now it was a bit later in the day, and there was one more exhibit we wanted to go to. We went to the big cat exhibit that had the lions in it. I was amazed at how big the lions were in person. It was really cool.

Just as we were about to leave an evacuation alarm started going off. Over the loudspeaker an announcement was made telling everyone that a lion had gotten loose and to calmly evacuate the park. A lion had somehow escaped, and was roaming free. We were all scared for our lives at this point. "Why did we have to come to this exhibit now?" I complained. As luck would have it the lion wasn't any more than fifty feet away, and headed towards us. I noticed some zoo keepers with tranquilizer guns aimed at the big cat that was racing at us at this point. A few darts got fired. Some hit their mark on the cat, distracting it from us. The other dart missed and struck me in the shoulder. I was in a lot of pain and felt dizzy instantly. The cat and I both got knocked cold.

I awoke some time later at a hospital. I learned that nobody was hurt, and that some idiot had cut the lock on the gate open to free the lion. It was surreal seeing myself on the news getting shot by a dart with a lion hot on my trail, but my friends and I managed to survive the incident. A news crew was in the hospital, and interviewed me about what had happened. I explained my point of view of the situation. It was all a bit fuzzy but I tried my best. I was released from the hospital shortly after. They said everything would be fine, and I just needed some sleep.

I tried going to sleep that night but I felt kind of funny and kept waking up with a cold sweat. As I awoke I felt so much different. I realized pretty soon that something was very wrong. I had transformed from a human to a house cat overnight! Looking back I'd guess that there was some feline DNA on the tranquilizer dart that mixed with me to create this reaction. I ran down the stairs and tried talking but just cat meows would come out of
