Testing Schedule:

It should be ensured that the necessary tests being carried out as per the attached ITP

5.0

Access:

A safe and a proper access to the site of works is to be provided so that, men and materials, plant and machinery along with tools & tackles can easily reach the site of works. Only authorized person from main contractor and (or) sub contractor should enter the site with proper PPE and tools and equipments.

Working hours:

False ceiling works shall be carried out during day time i.e. 8:00 am to 6:00 pm from December to February and & 7:00 am to 7:00 pm during March to November with the exception of 12:00 am to 3:00 pm during July to August. In case false ceiling works has to be carried out during night time it shall be done with due permission from the consultant.

Lighting/ Safety Lighting:

Proper lighting should be arranged in case the work is continuing night time. All mechanical equipment/ vehicles etc. should be arranged with glowing safety light to Engineer’s satisfaction.

Plant & Equipment Schedule:-

  • Power supply and Lighting (for working in night / dark places).
  • Sprit level, Straight edge, measuring tape.
  • Cutting and grinding machine
  • Small Drilling Machine

9.0

Personal Protective Equipment:

Every workman or supervisor shall be wearing the following PPE

  • Safety goggles
  • Coveralls
  • Safety shoes
  • Safety gloves & Safety helmet

10.0

Power

Electricity power is required for waterproofing works.

Detailed Working Methodology for GYPSUM PLASTER BOARD CEILINGS

13.10 FIXING OF 12.5mm THICK GYPSUM PLASTER BOARD CEILINGS, BULKHEADS AND BORDERS

a) Fixing of gypsum plaster board, ceilings and bulkhead will be carried out in stages listed below

  • Site survey
  • First fix
  • Second fix
  • Third fix

13.20 Site survey:-

Before commencement of the work site survey will be made with the Site engineer to check the following works

  • Plaster works to walls up to the required height
  • Stucco and primer work should be done to the required height
  • All M.E.P woks of first fix services should be completed
  • Protection of flooring

Before starting of the first fix services of false ceiling clearance will be obtained from the  consultant and M.E.P sub contractor as the first fix services of M.E.P above the false ceiling to be completed and approved

13.30 First fix:-

  1. Levels will be marked over the walls as per approved drawings.

  1. G.I angles or powder coated angles as per approved materials and section details of false ceilings will be fixed on level markings with self taping screws and royal plugs @ every 400mm c/c and at100mm near the wall corners and joints of angles.
  1. Vertical support of primary channels 10x35x10mm wide as approved materials and section details will be fixed to concrete slab @ 8000mm c/c and 300mm near the walls with 6mm dia Anchor rivets and extra supports should be provided near the A/C duct if required.
  1. Horizontal channels will then be fixed to vertical channels with 1/2”self taping screw as an load distribution carriers at every 1000mm c/c
  1. Furring channels will be fixed to horizontal channels in perpendicular form with G.I clips or 1/2” self taping screws as per approved materials @ every 400mm or  as per approved sectional details  

Before starting of the second fix services of false ceiling clearance will be obtained from the contractor, consultant and M.E.P sub contractor for the second fix services of M.E.P above the false ceiling to be completed and approved as well as inspection of the structural frame of false ceilings should be carried out by the consultant and should be rectified to the comments if any given by them

13.40 Second fix:-

  1. Gypsum plaster board sheet as approved should be fixed to furring channels with 1”self taping screws at every 100mm c/c penetrating through the it and G.I angles @ the perimeter of walls

  1. Extra furring channels should be provided at the joints of Gypsum plaster boards to its shorter lengths and at cut piece joints if required

Before starting of the third fix services of false ceiling marking will be made by M.E.P sub contractor for the third fix services such as all the electrical points, A/C supply and return air diffuser position, sprinkler points and position of access panel as per approved coordinated drawings and inspection by the consultant and contractor to be obtained for final approval of cutting.

13.50 Third fix:-

  1. Clean the area at the slope ends of the board.

  1. Peal off the paper at the square edge of the boards.
  1. Apply joint filler in all the joints to fill the gaps.
  1. Apply 50mm wide fiber mesh at all the joints.
  1. Apply joint filler over  the mesh in level of the boards  and leave it to get dry for 16 to 20hrs and over all the screw positions
  1. Apply second coat of joint filler over all the areas where ever first coat is applied and leave it to get dry for 10 to 12hrs.

Detailed Working Methodology for “GRG” CEILING

14.10  FIXING OF 600x600mm “GRG” CEILING

Fixing of 600x600mm ceilings will be carried out in stages listed below

  • Site survey
  • First fix
  • Second fix

14.20 Site survey:-

  • Plaster works to walls up to the required height.

  • Stucco and primer work should be done to the required height.
  • All M.E.P woks of first fix services should be completed.
  • Protection of flooring

Before starting of the first fix services of false ceiling clearance will be obtained from the  consultant and M.E.P sub contractor as the first fix services of M.E.P above the false ceiling to be completed and approved

14.30 First fix:-

  1. Levels will be marked over the walls as per approved drawings.

  1. Powder coated angles as per approved materials and section details of false ceilings will be fixed on level markings with self taping screws and royal plugs @ every 200mm c/c and at100mm near the wall corners and joints of angles.
  1. Vertical support of 3.5mm dia G.I wire with approved materials and section details will be fixed to concrete slab @ 1200mm c/c and 300mm near the walls with 6mm dia Anchor eye pins and extra supports should be provided near the A/C duct if required
  1. Main –T-sections as per approved materials will then be tied to G.I wires @ 1200mm c/c (Required minimum 3 tight turns of G.I wire)
  1. Cross T-BAR 1200mm will then be fixed in between all the Main-T-sections to its lock position  perpendicular to it @ every 600mm c/c
  1. Cross T-BAR 600 will then be fixed in between T-BAR 1200mm perpendicular to its lock position
  1. Leveling will be carried out of all the suspension by adjusting through the clips fixed in between the vertical G.I wire support of 3.5mm dia.

Before starting of the second fix services of false ceiling clearance will be obtained from the  consultant and M.E.P sub contractor for the second fix services of M.E.P above the false ceiling to be completed and approved as well as inspection of the suspension frame of false ceilings should be carried out by the consultant and should be rectified to the comments if any given by them.

14.40 Second fix:-

  1. All the M.E.P service tiles will be cut and given to them for placement

  1. Keeping cut piece tiles all around the perimeter of the walls.
  1. Placement of the full tiles after finishing the above activities.

Quality Control Measures & Responsibilities

L&TE-JV shall maintain the completed inspection of Test plans and inspection reports as quality records.  L&T EST-JV engineer will be responsible for quality control at the site.  CM/Project Engineer/QA/QC Engineer/site engineer and their team will carry out surveillance checks and will maintain original copies of all tests and record on file.

Before the commencement of work QA/QC will check as per approved check list and Site Engineer will be hand over to the respective consultant engineers.

Safety, Health & Environmental Issues.

All work shall be carried out as per the project ES&H plan. Proper sign shall be provided and constant check by the safety engineer shall be implemented.

All the appropriate personal should wear proper PPE which must include overalls, good quality gloves, goggles and face mask.

General health and safety requirement for every particular project shall be fully adhered by all site personnel.

In particular full body harness is to be used by all operatives while carrying outworks on

Scaffolding.

Also safety masks are to be used for application of sealants and grouts.

Service Shut Down - Not required.

Emergency arrangement, communication:-

Every precaution should be arranged to avoid any accident or injury. One safety officer will always be available to give proper direction and to make safety working atmosphere

The site office shall be equipped with first aid facility and one male nurse is also available in case of emergency, the injured person should immediately shifted and proper first aid shall be

Provided, & shall arrange medical facility in any hospital which near to site office, if required.

Fire  Precaution

Approved fire extinguisher shall be made available at prominent locations as per ES & H plan. Necessary training shall be provided to the labor in operation of fire extinguisher in proper manner as per the ES & H plan.
