There are many different techniques a teacher can use to monitor his students progress. One of the ways that is commonly used on a regular basis is the monitoring of students' and how they progress, by keeping an eye out on the kids this not only help the students, but also the teachers and the parents, to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of how well they are learning the material and following the instruction. With this information the teachers can focus on areas that need improving and this will lead to the student's performance better in the classroom.
By the teacher focusing their attention on the students and not sitting at the desk the whole time they can also monitor ongoing participation of the individual student or even a group of students and keep an eye on them during a class discussions and watch how the interact with other students.
Another method is to examine the student individual work as their manners. This method also allows the teacher to see if the student is under pressure. This process may seem like a waste of time because, you would think it must easier for the teacher to just ask the students if they need help, but some students want ask for help so the must also try to look out for herself who requires aid.
Some of the challenges that may arise when trying to monitor students progress, is language barriers. If the teacher is trying to observe a student that speaks a different language then themselves the teacher may have to use the buddy system in ordr to assist the student with the learning challenges that are ahead. The Buddy system will allow for the student to take part in class discussions with the help of his buddy he will translate and make sure that the student comprehends the lessons that is being taught. The teacher still must monitor the student to make sure that the child comprehends the lessons and the tasks that are being taught in English.
