The character I most identified with from this week's reading is Moses. My personality tends to lean more towards leadership. In many situations in my life the final decision falls on me most of the time. I too, like Moses, tried to escape this path. As a child my parents always told me you are not a follower you are a leader so quit trying to escape it. I would always reply back I do not want to be a leader I just want to be like everybody else. This was my "insufficient" excuse and my way of saying "O Lord, please send someone else to do it" (Exodus 4:13). I tried to escape the role of a leader, and still do at times, but I find going against the grain is much harder than going with it. The role of leader comes with so much responsibility and this can be quite overwhelming at times. However, I notice that when I accept the role of leadership I feel at peace and things seem to flow better. God has a plan for us all and if we accept it we will experience true happiness. Going against God's will just makes our lives harder than it has to be.
