Murder of the Defenseless

The definition of murder is the killing of another human being intentionally or with premeditation. ("Dictionary.com | Free Online Dictionary for English Definitions") A bold and horrific image: If an individual were to slice up someone's living body and crush their skull until their lives diminish, would you consider this murder? Under the 14th Amendment of the Constitution, women are given their own "liberty" and right to murder. (New) Abortion is defined as voluntarily removing an embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end pregnancy. ("Dictionary.com | Free Online Dictionary for English Definitions") With every woman that undergoes an abortion, there is another inaudible scream from an unborn child and the rights of that child are taken away. Women should not have the right to take this child's life.

There are many reasons women attempt to justify the act of abortion, most of which all come down to complete and utter selfishness. Women are often afraid of the acceptance of their family members and peers after the initial shock of becoming pregnant. This should have been something they thought about before they took the risk of conceiving a child. If one is old enough to have sex, they are old enough to understand the risks of their actions. To kill a defenseless child because of your own lack of better judgement is an example of complete ignorance.

Between the first week to the fourth week of conception, your baby develops at a rapid pace. Your embryo is already developed by week three. The baby is very small still, but is multiplying at an incredible rate and already being nourished by it's mother's body. By week five, your baby's heart is formed and begins beating. ("Baby Center") An unborn child is still a life. How can one justify something being non-living when it has a heartbeat?

There are two methods of abortion currently legal in the state of Michigan. These methods begin termination at conception, and can be implemented as late as nineteen or twentieth week of the pregnancy. By this time, the mother is able to clearly hear the heartbeat of her unborn child. The mother is able to feel the movement and soothe their erratic spasms with the sound of your voice. The methods of aborting this miracle are available to teens and adults above the age of eighteen. If an individual is below the age of eighteen, they are "required" to have parental consent for the operation. If one contacts a judge, however, they can be excused of this requirement. ("Planned Parenthood Mid and South Michigan") It seems to me that the law is helping support unsafe, unprotected sex habits. This will eventually cause more teenage and unwanted pregnancies. As a believer in an unborn child's right to life, I believe we are in desperate need to stop this act before it becomes more and more accepted
