Musical Instruments
Music is best friend of human beings. Music is connected with soul and emotion. It brings happy and pleasure to human beings. As result, music is popular in all over world. There is no boundary and hierarchy in musical world. Each country and tribe has long development and style of music. When appreciating and studying music, people can find that musical instruments and music has close relationship. Boring and cold instruments performs beautiful music, then music makes cold instruments warm and alive. In all western musical instruments family, piano, violin and classical guitar are three main members. These three instruments are very popular in the world and they enrich the music world at all. Although, piano, violin and classical guitar are included in orchestral music, they have different musical performance and positions, distinguished history and complete categories, and individual concert performers and their represents.
Piano is the king of musical instruments. It has very important position. Piano not only acts important role in symphony orchestras, but also it has deep influence on public. In other words, piano is one of nobles in musical instruments, and it gets favor from people all over the world. Moreover, the musical performance of piano is spacious, happy and romantic. In history, piano translated from the hammer mechanism. Harmmer mechanism is innovated by Cristofori in 1709. During 1730, people improve keyboard and pianofortes in order to make a musical sound. According to "The Early Pianoforte" written by Stewart Pollens, there are two oldest, still preserved, pianofortes were made by Bartolomeo Cristofori. The case of one, dated 1720, is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York City. The other, dated 1726, is in a museum in Leipzig, Germany.(54, Stewart Pollens).
Then, piano experienced a very long and colorful development. Now, modern piano is divided into two main categories. There are grand and upright piano. According to "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Buying a Piano" written by Marty C. Flinn,Jennifer B. Flinn, Grand piano's frame and strings are horizontal, with the strings extending away from the keyboard. The action lies beneath the strings, and uses gravity as its means of return to a state of rest.(Marty C. Flinn,87) in addition, there are many sizes of grand piano. A rough generalization distinguishes the concert grand from the parlor grand or boudoir grand and the smaller baby grand. Secondly, upright pianos, also called vertical pianos, are more compact because the frame and strings are vertical. The hammers move horizontally, and return to their resting position via springs, which are prone to wear and tear ( Marty C. Flinin,89) Finally, Beethoven is the best pianist in history. He makes amazing musical achievements proved by is piano. Fate Symphony is performed by piano. The performance of piano makes fate symphony tremendous and impressive.
Violin is the queen of musical instruments. It also has very important position. Violin is not only mainly character in symphony orchestras, but also it het favor in public. Parents prefer to choose violin to their children as the first musical instruments because they believe that violin make children elegant and beautiful. The history of violin is very long. According to The Beethoven Violin Sonatas: History, Criticism, Performance written by Lewis Lockwood,Mark Kroll, the earliest stringed instruments were mostly plucked (e.g. the Greek lyre).
