This is the story of my life. I was bor a small balck child somewhere in the deep hart of texas and on a plantation. but this was no ordinary plantaion, oh no, this was run by the meanest coldest of the centrurey, James Colton. this man was the hardest slave driver there ever was he would whip us if we even stopped working for a second. We would drop down from heat exaustion and dehidration and he would come over and scream at us until we would get up or he would shoot us on the spot if we werent able to return to our duties of pickin cotton. But not all story have an un happy ending, this one has a silver lining. You see when I dropped down one day for thirst Mr. John Colton came over and screamed get up. At that point i lept up from the ground, grabbed his gun and made a dash for the fence, shooting his gun behind me trying to fend off the dogs that were bearing down on me. As soon as that gun stoped firaing I dropped and ran faster then i had ever gone before, i hopped the fence and cept running intil i coulnd run any longer and, soo i came to a river and that river is where ive met other slaves who have escaped for 30 years now. One of the greatest scapes ever made from that corner of man made hell belonged to a boy no older than 15, he passed by the dogs and John himslef without getting cought. he snuck though the grassl but was quite enough not to get anyone attention.
