Case 10: Netflix
1) I would use the performance ranking method. It is used to assess the work performance of employees from the highest to the lowest levels. The manager will then make a comparison of one employee with his peers and not making the comparison of each employee with some certain standards.
2) I believe that the Netflix HR teams are doing above and beyond. They are attracting a quality workforce, developing and maintaining a quality workforce. I fell that when they are looking for a new employee that they look for them to have these qualities.
3) The company trusts their workers to make the best decision in the best interest of the company and themselves. Netflix allows for there employees to be risk-takers and allows them to do whatever they need to do to make their goal and in doing so they are paid way above the average pay.
4) They did not do so well in 2011 but they are making a comeback. The part that is helping them is the streaming of movies. They are still hurting when it comes to there DVD subscriptions. I think that when they changed the prices and made it harder for customers. I feel that Netflix is still using the same HR management practices. I was a customer and when the price changes happened I ended my subscription and now I am using red box to rent movies. I have been asking my friends who I knew had Netflix and they are thinking of canceling too do to the price change and that the selection is not as good as it was.
