Have you ever watched a remake of a movie and said "Man that was horrible?" Movie goers have also done that many times to movies that had some cheesy remake made. There is one movie that comes to my mind that does not fit this category; the movie is called Batman Begins. This one movie has completely changed how we previously viewed the Batman movie franchise. The original Batman movie was released in 1989 and starred Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, and Kim Basinger. This movie will always be a classic movie as far as movies go. Do not get the facts wrong. We all love this movie, but the new Batman movie is better overall. The Batman movies are different in the story line, acting, and the emotional appeal.
The story line in any movie is the base to the entire movies. If you do not have a strong base the entire structure will fall. In the case of movies, if you do not have a strong plot and story line the movie will fail miserably. In the case of the first Batman movie it had a strong plot, but the story line was kind of weak. It did follow the comic book pretty well, but it was missing a lot of key information. We believed that Batman Begins filled in the empty gaps that the original Batman movie left out. In Batman Begins from the beginning of the movie it ties in the bat theme into the movie. Bruce Wayne as a young boy falls into a well at the Bruce family manor. He starts to hear noises coming from inside the well and up flies tons of bats. He is scared and his father soon comes and gets him. From that very moment you knew that bats were going to play a vital role in the movie. Also, in Batman Begins it told the life story of Bruce Wayne and the original Batman did not. Batman Begins starts when he was a kid and goes all the way up to the point where he becomes Batman. The turning point of the movie is where he was going to shoot his parents murderer and he gets beat to the punch. He would have killed him and he would have been just like the rest of the scum of Gotham City. He decides to disappear and make a new identity for himself. He ends up in jail and gets a unique opportunity to become a part of a secret society. He decides to go this route and becomes a member of this organization. They have no remorse when it comes to thieves no matter how minor the crime. Bruce Wayne is told to kill somebody and he refuses. Then there is a big fight and he goes back to Gotham City. The first Batman movie did not go this route. By doing this you never really learn where the bat theme ties into the whole movie. Also, you never know the history of Bruce Wayne and how he truly becomes Batman.
Good acting can make or break any movie. In the case of the original Batman movie they had a lot of great actors in it. You had Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Kim Bassinger, and many other well known actors. With the storyline they were given they did a pretty job portraying the characters in the movie. On the other hand, Batman Begins
