This is a sort paper on trying to find information on various markets and their potentials in New York States Capital District.
Trying to locate resources to use for this have ben difficult for the business I am in. Due to the wide range of products that are made here and the wide range of customer types has made it very difficult to find quality facts that relate to this business.
Find the market potential for 15 to 20 different customer types in a short period of time has proven nearly imposable. This along with gather the information based on customer type and needs has lead us to a varity of sites that do not have all the data needed even though they where said to have this data.
We are basically a print and design house that sells both retail and wholesale. We currently have
approximately 1, 000 customers in our date base.
The services we over in printing are both wide format and conventional. We can print everything from business cards to large banners and signs. Along with the printing we offer design and layout services, laminating up to 60" wide, mounting services, cut vinyl work for banners, signs, vehicle and store windows. With most of this we offer installation services for much of the items manufactured here.
If we are to do the artwork we will work with the client on the general concept, sizing, letter styles and colors to be used. with this information we will begin the design process. Once we have a general layout we have the customer review the artwork. If changes need to be made they are done and the artwork is sent to the client for final approval. Once we have approval then we proceed to the print layout. Here multiples are done base on quantity ordered and material size. the next step is printing. If the job is done using cut sheet paper then once the layout is done the person will send this to the printer used for the job. If it is a large format print job then once the layout is done a work sheet is created showing the job details of material, one or two sided, material to use and location of print file. This work order is then taken to the proper workstation and the file is downloaded to the printer's computer. The file is then brought into the RIP program for final layout and color work. Once completed the artwork is sent to the RIP section of the software and the file is processed for the printer. While that is being done the operator has setup the printer for the proper material to be used. After the materials are loaded and ready to go and the file is ripped the operator can start the printing.
For both types of printing, once the item is printed it has to go to finishing. With cut sheet printing this usually means cutting. Once cut to size it may need laminating, folding, scoring, perforating, collating, tabbing, binding or stapling. With
