2. Watch the movie Emma (1996), the movie based on the Jane Austen novel, and compare it to the satirical movie Clueless (1995) in a short essay. The comparison should include theme, plot, characterization, setting, and should outline the major differences between the two stories. Create a THOROUGH pitch of your show by outlining the following in your proposal: plot, setting, timeline, characters, budget/advertising, rules. 4. a) Study political cartoons from three of the following topics from a variety of time periods: Canadian Confederation, World War I or II, Women's Rights, Civil Rights, Political Scandal (check 1970's for good ammo), Present Day Canadian Social Issues. The cartoons studied must be submitted with the unit, and an analysis of context and satirical message must be made for each. (15 Marks)

b) Create your own satirical cartoon reflecting on current events. Provide a contextual breakdown with your submission and an explanation of the satirical message
