The "For Profit University" has several factors that drive growth. For example, high school retention rate. An increase in high school graduates means an increase in revenue for universities. In addition, the national unemployment rate is another key driver for the industry's growth. For example, when there is a high unemployment rate, high school students are more likely to stay in school and then pursue higher education, which increases the demand for the services offered by for-profit universities. Also, for-profit universities offer cheaper tuition than national public institutions. For example, the industry leaders market their services to lower income households by increasing financial aid and lowering tuition.
