Oscar is going through life and trying to deal with his culture. When I read the first chapter of "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao", It seemed kinda of rude and bit disrespectful. The way he was telling the story, it seemed like all guys were treating women like they are a piece of meat. Oscar will be facing more on falling in love and finding out the difficulty of trying to get their attention. In his family, Dominican boys are supposed to be expert in girls. But Oscar is the total opposite because he loves comic books, science fiction, and etc. His physical appearance is not so attractive to girls. Oscar will find someone he truly loves later in the book. The book will also talk about his family and the culture that involves around him. Like the title says "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao", so it gave me a clue to as to what will be going on in the book. Also the first chapter talks about Dominican republic and Oscar's family. I can also sense there is a family issue going on in Oscar's household. His mother, Hypatia Belicia Cabral will play a huge part in Oscar's life. Therefore, it will tell more about his mother's and sister's point of view. Just to feel what the they are thinking or how they are doing with their own life. The book will probably go in detail of Oscar's school and love life. Since Oscar and his family are from Dominican Republic, the book is gonna show some hardship and difficulty of immigrating to New Jersey.
