In 1941, an outgoing brave little girl named Laya lived in Hawaii. She helped her mother around the house with chores, and helped her siblings with homework. On the day of December 7, 1941, Laya was fast asleep in her big comfy white sleigh bed. When her mother woke her up and informed her about the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor. She was very shocked to hear about the horrifying news.
When her mother told her more of what happened, she was mortified knowing that thousands of people lost their lives and the United States military ships were engulfed in flames with thick smoke was billowing into the harbor, she was distraught and beside herself.
She asked her mother if there was anything she could do to help, and her mother said, "The best thing we can do is to pray. Pray for the families that have lost loved ones, the troops and the injured." So Laya gathered her family and friends in to the grand living room and asked everyone to bow their heads and pray.
After the prayer session, her family and friends gathered into the dining room to have a delicious, mouthwatering divine table of food. While they ate dinner Laya's parents discussed the bombing that happened that day and what could possible happen in the future.
