Personalities Case
Essay by people • January 19, 2012 • Essay • 251 Words (2 Pages) • 1,665 Views
In Japan the young girls have surgery to make their eyes rounder. In a tribe in Uganda, young brides sit in the fattening tent where they drink only cow's milk until they gain a significant amount of weight. Even in our own country, men and women undergo surgical procedures to change their appearance.
What about our personalities? What if there were a surgical procedure that could change a personality flaw? What about patience? I'm sure we could all use an extra dose of patience! Do you lose your temper when people interrupt you? Why do you think that is? Some people are assertive, while others are passive. Why?
We are the way we are because of our past experiences and because of the influences of people in our lives. What experiences have made you who you are? What people have made an impact on your life?
How do you think these experiences and personality quirks will impact you as an adult? Will these experiences help or hurt you? Will you grow from them or continue to hurt from them?
