PPQ Parts Going Global

PPQ Parts has made up their mind that they want to expand globally over the next few years. By making this change they will face many concerns. PPQ Parts will first have to think about their impact on the country they choose to expand to. They will have to think of whether it will have a negative or positive impact on the country. The global location they choose to expand to will most likely have to adjust to the coming changes. Taking a company global is good for business, but it can also present issues for others. Some issues include:

1. Cultural differences

2. New policies and regulations

3. Adding different values, and

4. Merging different traditions.

Before PPQ Parts expands globally they must understand where they are coming from, they need to understand the concept of global businesses, and what PPQ will do for the country. PPQ would have to be wary of imposing their culture and traditions on the foreign country they expand to (Firoz, 2002).

Multinational corporations and global organizations face many obstacles in businesses. Cultural barriers and diversity issues are common by owners and managers of these corporations. Diversity issues include infrastructure, business law, foreign trade, and politics of the foreign countries. The cultural barriers MNC faces are social. These include issues with values, beliefs, and the demographic trends of the host country. In order for the company to get passed the barriers and issues, they must hire an operations manager. This new hire must have knowledge in these areas. The operations manager will help the company become more successful in the new country (Cortez, 2011).

Diversity is the way that people differ from each other. Diversity is an important topic for all businesses especially international businesses. It is important because the differences between each person affect how the people work and interact in the business. In international business people have to learn different concepts and behaviors. Diversity is important for international business because of:

1. Compliance with laws

2. Increases in a multicultural world

3. Understanding different perspectives are important, and

4. Multiculturalism.

Diversity is important because of the increase in international business landscape. The majority of business travel has gone up. More people are commuting internationally to do business. Increased travel, and technology shows more companies are global (Why is Workplace
