I am writing my paper on my friend Bob. He works for a company named UniFirst Corporation. His title there is Route Sales Manager.
Bob has worked for this company for one year and eight months. He has been in his position now for about eight of those months. UniFirst is a leading supplier of uniforms, work wear and related products to businesses big and small since 1936. They provide a wide range of apparel from traditional uniforms, industrial wear, specialty and protective clothing to corporate casual and executive attire. They also offer floor care and restroom services products, including a range of mats, mops, soaps, air fresheners, and paper items. Unifirst services customers through out the United States and Canada and puts more than one million people in work apparel each business day and offers rentals, lease and purchases program at the very best value.
Bob started at the company as just a route sales representative. He worked hard everyday to get to where is now in the company. As a route salesman, his responsibilities were but not limited to, loading his truck with proper equipment, driving to assigned locations and servicing the customer to what they are in need of that week. Not only was he delivering what the customer orders the week before but he was a salesman at the same time. Bob was the highest salesmen in the first year of his employment and with his hard sportsman ship he got promoted to his positions now.
Bob is considered to be a first line manger. What he does now is supervise and coordinates the activities of the operating employees under him. He is now in charge of the remaining people that were in his past positions. Since he was promoted with in the company, he has experience with the position that he is now in control of. This especially helps with his technical skills, which is necessary to accomplish or understand the specific kind of work being done in an organization. He has the interpersonal skill and ability to communicate with, understand motivate both individual and groups.

I asked Bob what his thoughts were about management and what the toughest part is. Bob said that the toughest part about management with his job is keeping everything together and keeping communication with his employees.
