For example, in order to maintain its product quality, it has set up an extremely high quality standard inherited from its luxury product positioning. However, following the Antenna problem, public relations experts have criticized Apple for appearing to minimize the problem rather than reacting quickly to remedy it. The iPhone 4 sales were not suspended. Apple's attitude was less than responsible as it just provided free bumpers and cases for a certain period of time to resolve the reception problems. But it should also be noted that instead of devising appropriate strategies such as a recall or cessation of sales to resolve the problem or sticking to the original design, the fixes of the company included covering the affected antenna area.

PRIVACY

Applications that collect or transmit a user's contact data without their prior permission are in violation of ethical guidelines. There were certain software applications of Apple's devices that were passing personal user information to third-party advertisers that work with Apple to provide products and services, or that help Apple market to customer and may also collect, use, and share precise location data, including the real-time geographic location of your Apple computer or device without consent. Therefore, to remedy this situation the company announced that the users have the option to disable these features on their phones. But the problem was that even though users disabled these features, the phones continued to collect location information. So to defend its data-collection mechanism, Apple developed new software to solve this malfunction.

SUSTAINABILITY

Apple has adopted several steps to become a greener and sustainable company. Apple admits that the majority of its emissions come from its products as it constantly develops and launches new products. Therefore, the environmental impact of its products is a serious issue. Hence, to deal with the situation Apple Inc has taken the following steps:

Apple has increasingly encouraged its consumers to buy a new device instead of updating the old one as Apple adopts the 'cradle-to-grave' way of consumption whereby there is no innovative considerations on creating a reusable product line or creating a green manufacturing chain.

The planned obsolescence or the designed disposability is being encouraged even if consumers critisised this practice.

Therefore as Apple is constantly releasing upgraded products, this may result in older technology being tossed aside.

Apple thereby, provides recycling programs to customers all over the world whereby participation is encouraged by sending out incentives such as gift card or discount when purchasing a new product; consumers that trade in their old
