For the purpose of this assessment, a company Christmas/End or Year party will be the project of focus. Below is the Project charter for the event

Project Justification

The party is to be organised in order to celebrate the end of year and thank the staff of Company ABC for the hard work and contributions throughout the year.

Constraints & Assumptions

The following constraints and assumptions have been identified. If any constraint is breached or any assumption proves false, approval to proceed must be sought from the project sponsor.

- A period of 1.5months to complete

- Limited budget

- Limited number of people to attend the party

Assumptions

- A full-time Project Manager will be appointed and will be available throughout the project

- The party is organised for 100 people or less

Roles and Responsibilities

The following roles and responsibilities for this project are defined below:

Project Sponsor:

- Approves the project charter and scope

- Appoints the project manager

- Provides clarification on priorities

- Provides for the funding of the project

- Helps address roadblocks, remove obstacles or other constraints that the project team cannot solve itself.

Project Manager (PM)

- Acts as a central point of contact for all project activities

- Develops realistic work estimates, financial budgets and timelines

- Creates and maintains project plans

- Measures progress toward goals and revises project plans and work tasks accordingly

- Managers the day-to-day activities of the project

- Manages scope, time, cost and quality

- Defines requirements, plans, deliverables and tasks required to meet requirements

- Makes timely decisions to ensure efficient project progress

- Reviews project deliverables and secures appropriate signoffs

- Accesses resources as required and manages resource issues in a timely fashion

- Manages issue resolution and executes change request process and escalation as appropriate

- Manage risks and integrate risk responses within the project

- Facilitates team lead discussion and status reporting

- Provides direction to project team leads and members and empowers them to fulfil their responsibilities

- Works with third parties to define timeline and services and manages them to meet the deadlines and develop quality services

- Assures integration and communication across project team and third parties

- Takes initiative to proactively identify and mitigate project risks
