Star Wars or Star Trek? McDonalds or Burger King? Republicans or Democrats? Pc or Mac? These are all epic topics that have been debated for years that have not yet found a definitive winner. Just like these topics the war between Sony's Playstation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 has been brewing for years. It seemed like the only way that this feud could end was through a barrage of uneducated bantering, "yo mamma jokes" or, my favorite, a classic light saber duel. And until now, these seemed to be the only logical means to an end. In my very short life I have owned both game consoles and put in many man hours dedicating my spare time to bettering myself as a gamer. It was not an easy task and took a lot of dedication to finally reach the point where I could pick a unanimous winner and if you do not feel that taking a college students word on the matter, do not worry, I through in some facts that will really wow you. So, if you want to take your gaming experience to the next level you should turn to my hands down winner, the PS3, because of its sophisticated graphics and games, its online gaming interface and its second to none price value.

When it comes to consoles, games and graphics are what truly matter. True, Xbox does have Halo as its flagship franchise, a very worthy opponent. However, the PS3 has its own exclusive games that have been top games of the year like, God of War, Grand Turismo, Little Big Planet, Killzone and my personal favorite Unchartered. In 2005, Microsoft launched their Xbox 360 console containing a 500 MHz Xenos graphics processor that is very good in its own right, but in 2006, Sony followed up Microsoft's launch with their own launch of the Playstation 3 that contains a 500 MHz RSx "reality synthesizer" graphics processor that makes movements and transitions that much smoother and life like (Naik). The specific processor that Sony chose has a much higher ceiling than that of the Xbox. Most developers would say that the Xbox is about as good as it is going to be, where as they are just only putting a dent into what the PS3 can become. Playstation is also demolishing Xbox in the HD battle. With the PS3's release of a Blu-Ray equipped system they become the first console with HD graphics and movies. These HD graphics are a really nice accessory when you decide to take your gaming life to the rest of the world through online gaming.

Xbox Live is currently the leader in terms on overall users at about 23 million versus Playstation 3 at 16 million (Naik). However, Xbox really does a number on its gamers wallets by charging them a whopping $50 for a Gold membership the is necessary for online use, where as once you purchase your state of the art PS3, you are able to enjoy countless hours of free online play. Also with Xbox, you must either supply your own internet cables (a real pain in the rear) or buy a separate wifi adaptor for the console, unlike PS3's already installed adaptor. Xbox has a lot of great features like its "Gameroom". It is a place modeled after an old school arcade where you can play games like Gallaga and Pacman, but it is just another way for Xbox to fatten their pockets off of purist gamers. Playstation Network, on the other hand, offers the same features at a far less expensive
