In this particular report the student will be investigating three different articles that will address different areas in developmental psychology. The topics of choice consists of Early Intervention, Early Adolescent, and Psychology and Aging. Each article will be reviewed and explained in full details. Within each paragraph, the student will explain what the she found most interesting about each article and why.
Early Intervention
The first article to be addressed is known as the Journal of Early Intervention: Early Childhood Inclusion. Within this article it describes two organizations pertaining to children who are young. These organizations are the National Association for Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and Division of Early Childhood of the Council for Expectational Children (Wesley & Buysse, 2009). These organizations began a process toward beginning a statement shared on childhood early inclusion. This process was published in April 2009 and promoted by the NPDCI (National Professional Development Center on Inclusion)(Wesley & Buysee, 2009). It started on a new outlook and definition of childhood early inclusion. It can best described as childhood early inclusion illustrates the practices, policies, and values that tend to support the rights of all infants, young children, and her or his family. Therefore, regardless of capabilities to participate in a broader range of contexts or activities as a full member of communities, society, and families (Wesley & Buysee, 2009). The chosen results of any inclusive involvements, struggles, or backgrounds for children without or with disabilities and his or her families includes a sense of membership or belongings, development, positive social friendships or relationships, and the willingness to reach her or his full and complete potential. The describing qualities of inclusion can be used to analyze high qualified adolescent programs and its services are known to be supports, access, and participation (Wesley & Buysee, 2009). This specific statement goes farther into defining and explaining features and emphasizes recommendations for using the statement potentially to guide programs, agencies, and individuals into developing different significant inclusive programs.
The reason that I chose this articles was because I found it interesting that there are agencies out there willing to support the rights of an infant and young children, regardless if he or she has a disability. These agencies work together with the doctors, parents, and children to promote the child to adapt to the demands of this ever -changing world. These organizations promote children and their families to be involved with other cultures in societies and promotes a positive atmosphere for each of them to learn from one another.

Depression is known to individuals to be regarded as a more severe type of adolescence psychopathology because of the co-morbidity, pervasive consequence, or prevention affiliated with this particular diagnosis (Cicchetti & Toth, 1998).The second article that will be described in this paper is called Risk Factors for Depression in Early Adolescent. The main objective of this research is to identify any pertinent liable elements of any form of depression within young adolescences from an association of prevalent factors. The preceding factors were completely investigated thoroughly: body image. SES (Socioeconomic States), inattention/hyperactivity, perceived parental rejection, self esteem, perceived parental nurturing, pubertal states, perceived quality of peer relationships, and any conduct problems (MacPhee &Andrews, 2006). This sampling of 2,014 twelve and thirteen year olds were split apart by genders to probable sex distinctions in the risk circumstances for forms of discouragement (MacPhee & Andrews, 2006). There were numerous mediational images and models that was investigated. Self esteem seemed to be the strongest and biggest predictor of any form of depression in males and females. Parental behavior emerged also as significant risk factors for depression as well (MacPhee & Andrews, 2006). Therefore, both of these variables were examined and deliberated as factors for people developing prevention and intervention programs. The study conducted is known to be the NLSCY (National Longitudinal Survey of Children and Youth)( MacPhee & Andrews, 2006).
