The goal of a literature review is as follows;
- To acquire knowledge from other researchers or academician and kindle fresh thoughts to similar studies.
This simply implies that writers or researchers can gain knowledge and ideas on works of others. This becomes an eye opener for other researches to ascertain unsighted paths and advocates suggestions for repetition of a study to pin out sighted gaps. Further than this , It discloses techniques, methods and research strategies which can enable the researcher kindle new ideas that can result into developing of theories and advancing new understandings.
- Is to validate a fact with a usage of information and create integrity.
This is when a researcher is proving to the readers that he/she is knowledgeable on the subject matter and discerns the main problems. Whereby if it is so then, it enhances and builds reader’s buoyancy to those reading the research as well as the person pursuing the study’s proficient capability and profile.
- It illustrates the direction of the research and it relates to the study under review
This goal explains that reviewing literature creates a framework for questions to be used in the research as well as expressing the progression of facts. Similarly the goal of reviewing literature is to position research under review in a situation where it can demonstrate its significance through its linkage to a pool of knowledge.
- To assimilate and digest what is identified in any part of literature.
The goal of literature in this case is to bring out facts identified together and creates diverse views. Where by arguments and supportive views are clearly expressed to create a gap which needs to be looked at. Furthermore, the gap in question can be known and designates the course of action/ research to be undertaken.
