                    Quinceanera : Becoming a women

Introduction :

1 .    How many of you guys remember when you were little kids and there would be all sorts of things . Yet  couldn't  do anything about it for instance, you tried to fit into an adult conversation where the only words said to you were : don't but in, this is none of your business , go play with your cousins etc.. Who remembers when this stopped being the case. When your opinions mattered. This transition is very important to all of us. That transition is called the coming of age . If  you’re a girl and Hispanic at the age  of 15 you’re considered as “ a young adult”.   It’s rare  when you see a little girl wearing heels. You usually see young ladies and  older women  wearing them .  Heels play the role  of  representing a level of maturity.

ll.          I’m Hispanic and of course like any other girl, for my 15th birthday I had a Quinceanera.  Quinceanera’s usually all come in  surprises  but that’s a whole different story. ll.       Quinceaneras are celebrated with food, music, dances, and the most important part is  the  surprise dance. The surprise dance is performed by the Quinceanera,   in which is  accompanied by the chambelan performance.

lll.     There  are different types of  traditions that  play the Quinceanera role but one of the most common is the change of shoes to heels . The padrino of honor is who does the change of shoes . Most of the time the father does the  shoe to heel arrangement . With this done , it symbolizes that at that moment the  little girl has became a young adult. Once the young lady has her high heels on she takes the dance with her father indicating presentence of a young women.

lV.     I’m someone who went through the 15 process. While I was at the ceremony I started to  tearing up it just has such a great yet so emotional but unexplainable feeling to it. Seeing my parents arrive to the ceremony made tear up even more.

                                                     Conclusion -

l .       Personally,
