Q: 1 - What are some consequences that can occur if some or any psychiatric issues are left untreated?
- Why does the question interest you?
This question interest me because recently I read an article about how a woman drowned of her 5 children due to psychiatric issues and my question has the ability to prove whether or not psychiatric issues if left untreated can lead to someone committing such a crime.
- Do you think you will be able to find enough information to research this well? Why or why not?
I believe that I can because this article that I read about Andrea Yates is just one of the many cases there is on psychiatric issues and their consequences if these illnesses are left untreated. There are also studies and research done by doctors and mental health professionals that relate to this topic.

This topic interests me because in one of my previous classes we participated in an open discussion about what we thought were the most common reasons for individuals not reporting crimes and then researched the facts to compare and contrast our thoughts to studies done about it. This debate left a taste of curiosity and intriguing thoughts to find out more about the matter, which is why I would like to elaborate on the topic.

I think I will be able to find plenty of information to search because there can be many reasons and factor that play in, as to why some areas tend to have more crimes than others. Along with other information readily available there are many statistical reports on crime rates by area that will help me in later research projects.
