My family and I are Netflix subscribers. This is also another usage of on demand media.
When you listen to the radio online you are utilizing the on demand media. When you say "I want to research this." And you turn on your computer and do research on whatever subject is of interest that is also on demand media. Mp3 players are on demand media as well.
